DESCRIPTION

This is a nice real photo postcard of a World War I Army soldier. He is in uniform with no hat on with a light background. This postcard is unused. It is in very good condition. There is glue residue in the corners on the back side. On the front side, bottom corner is the name written in pen: 'Jamie Wyllie'. James A. Wyllie was one of 9 children of William James and Edith Porter Wyllie. This Wyllie family has great historical significance and were among the first pioneers and homesteaders in the Eastern Oregon towns of Dayville and John Day. You can read about this Wyllie family on this informative website: http://www.gesswhoto.com/dayville.html. This item was part of an estate of Dean Swift, a member of another early pioneering family in Eastern Oregon, that we are currently selling, along with other pieces of military memorabilia, pictures and other items of interest relating to the Swifts from Eastern Oregon. This postcard makes a nice addition to any military, WWI or historical Oregon collection!
