E OREGON Cabinet Card Ada CLEAVER Family

This is a pretty cabinet card photograph of a young lady. She is in a lovely dress and holds a document above her head (maybe a graduation diploma). The backdrop of the photo is fancy also with lace, an Eastlake style Victorian table and a vase of lillies. This cabinet photo measures 4 1/4 by 6 1/2 inches and is in excellent condition with the original sheen with a few very light wear spots. Printed on the bottom of the card is: 'FLOWERDAY, Baker City, Ore.' On the back side of the card is writing in pen and pencil that reads: 'Ada Cleaver, Grandmother Swift's cousin'. We have another cabinet photo with Ada Cleaver this time with another young lady revealed as 'Mary'. The Cleavers and the Swifts were families from the John Day, Dayville area of Eastern Oregon. They were some of the early pioneer homesteader families of the Grant County, Oregon area. You can read about these early pioneer families of Eastern Oregon at: http://www.gesswhoto.com/dayville.html. This item was part of an estate of Dean Swift, son of Ward Swift, along with other pieces of military memorabilia, photograhs and other items of interest relating to the Swifts from Eastern Oregon. Add this terrific early photograph to any cabinet card or historical Oregon collection!
