This is a wonderful antiques, small soup or cream tureen with lid and an underplate that is ironstone ceramic. It is made by J. Edwards and is the President Shape. It is marked well with impressed Registry marks from England. The mark dates this piece from 1855. It has a lovely nature design that is leaves and a seed, nut or squash. There are 2 scallop handles. All 3 pieces together measure about 8 inches tall and the plate is 8 inches in diameter. The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. There is some light crazing and staining in spots on the bowl. The lid is perfect and the underplate has some very light wear on the high spots. The finish is glossy and bright. This small tureen is a wonderful, true antique to add to your dining table service!
